A Healthy Teeth Cleaning

Smile A healthy teeth cleaning: Prophylaxis   A type of cleaning performed by a dentist or dental hygienist with the goal of preventing cavities and periodontal disease. Hand scalers and ultra sonic scalers are the main instruments used to perform this service.

On a new patient appointment, you will receive your first healthy teeth cleaning. Your overall periodontal status will be measured to find out the level of your oral health. A gentle cleaning will be performed and a recall will be discussed. Some patients find they will need additional treatment or more frequent cleanings to aid them in maintaining a healthy bright smile.

Prophylaxis is a very good way of having such bright and beautiful smile. It really makes our teeth look bright, clean and of course healthy.

The professional dental instruments used in our office can remove hardened calculus that can not be removed by brushing alone. It will also help to remove every day stains caused by coffee, tea, and other dark drinks and tobacco.

You can keep your teeth clean, but the dentist can help you there even more. It's like you're doing the basic maintenance for your car, and the mechanic's doing the tricky and crucial parts. As they say, leave it to the experts.

That is a great analogy!

Wow, you have a very healthy looking teeth. Kudos to your oral care regimen.

I have read that in India people clean theit teeth with a priticular tree species stick and they ave the healthiest and best looking teeth.

I haven't tried this dental cleaning technique but I am very curious. I would ask my dentist Sippy Downs if he does this.

Prophylaxis should be done once a month by a dentist to make sure your teeth are clean and free of obstruction.
